ChristineB's Testimony: Transcending My Challenges

As a transsexual woman who transitioned in 1985, I was chased out of college and fired from my job and had to resort to prostitution to survive, where I became a heroin addict. Only by masquerading as a man was I able to go through rehab and get hired onto a straight job, from which I could have been fired when I went back to living as a woman. In most states I could still be fired and have no recourse. It is only luck, perseverance and perhaps the grace of God(dess) I have the life I do today.
